Surprise Box #4: Students Win Prizes in Scavenger Hunt Challenge

Milton Hershey School students received the fourth Opening of School surprise box on Thursday, Aug. 20, continuing several weeks’ worth of fun, unity-building activities around this year’s theme. Included in the box was a booklet of scavenger hunt challenges, leading students around their homes and Transitional Living (TL) buildings while working together to solve clues.

After students completed the challenges–which ranged from answering riddles to creating a handshake to designing a Sacred Values-based MHS flag–they each received their prize: an Our Future in Focus aluminum water bottle.

So far in the surprises boxes, students have also received sunglasses, t-shirts, and bracelets to spotlight the Opening of School theme and remind them of the strength of our MHS community. Meanwhile, a host of themed events have encouraged students to be creative and practice teamwork.
