Spartan Family Network

Milton Hershey School is more than just a school—it is a family. Now that you and your child are joining the Spartan Family Network, it’s time to prepare for the school year ahead. During your transition, we work hard to build meaningful relationships with you and your child. We want to make the change from life at home to a new home at MHS as smooth as possible. As your child settles in, we work to keep you both connected because you will always be an important part of their success.

Parent Portal

Now it’s time to revisit the Parent Portal. You received your username and password on Enrollment Day—email us if you need help remembering them. The Parent Portal is where you’ll get an inside look at your child’s school grades, activities, and home life. Be sure to keep your contact information up-to-date to continue receiving school communication.

The portal also has a smartphone app to help you stay connected when you’re on the go.

Visiting Your Child

Visits help you keep an active relationship with your child. They also show your child that you are committed to their education and success at MHS.

The Gertrude Gurt Family Center was created for families to have a place to connect and engage at MHS. The center is equipped with a café, family rooms, a multi-purpose space, and a hair care center—all created with parents’ and sponsors’ needs in mind.

Staying Connected to Your Student

Parents/sponsors are encouraged to stay connected with their student while on campus. For many families, the easiest way to do this is through the student home. Stay in touch with your student’s houseparents to learn about ways you can be involved in student home life.
