MHS Recognizes Staff During Third Annual Power of One Awards

On Wednesday, May 30, Milton Hershey School honored 48 staff members at the annual Power of One Awards.

“We are proud to honor and recognize our dedicated staff who are committed to serving children to fulfill the Hersheys’ vision,” said MHS President Pete Gurt ’85. “I am proud of our Power of One Award recipients who have gone the extra mile to make such a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.”

The event provides an opportunity for students to recognize MHS staff members who have made a difference in their lives and demonstrate commitment to the school’s 2020 Vision. Honorees enjoyed an outdoor reception at The Hershey Gardens with the students who nominated them.

Staff members honored go above and beyond and engage with students in a variety of ways throughout the year. They exemplify how to build impactful and positive relationships with students to help them succeed academically and beyond.

The Power of One Awards reinforce Milton Hershey School’s 2020 Vision. Introduced during the 2014-15 academic year, the three major goals are: cultivate strength of character and deliver a top-notch education; expand our mission; and ignite staff engagement and exceptional performance.
