A Community of Diversity and Mutual Respect
A Nurturing Environment to Call Home
Milton Hershey School is among the best private schools in the nation, offering individualized attention, small class sizes, and excellent academic programs to children in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade from lower income families. All programs, activities, clothing, and medical and dental care are provided to students at no charge. Education in the Judeo-Christian faith, the heritage of the school’s founders, also is part of the MHS program and includes daily devotions and Sunday chapel services.
We focus on staying true to our founders’ mission of providing students with a welcoming and inclusive community. Our appreciation of diversity is rooted in our Sacred Values of integrity, positive spirit, commitment to mission, and mutual respect. We believe that students need exposure to diverse individuals, cultures, ideas, and viewpoints to develop the 21st century skills needed for success in today’s global marketplace.
A nurturing environment to learn, grow, and succeed
MHS students live and learn in classrooms and student homes led by highly-trained professionals who celebrate the unique talents of each individual. Students come from different backgrounds, and learn to appreciate each other’s differences to develop lifelong bonds.
Our students live on campus in student homes with houseparents and 8-12 students of the same age group and gender. The student home is at the core of each child’s stability and safety while they are here.
Support each step of the way
Support services are available for any MHS student who desires them. We have credentialed professionals, including psychologists, psychotherapists, behavioral specialists, and mental health workers, to help students gain understanding and appreciation of their many intellectual, social, emotional, and physical strengths in order to achieve happiness and success.
