Milton Hershey School Honors Parents and Sponsors During Spring Family Weekend

Milton Hershey School celebrated the unwavering dedication of parents and sponsors during Spring Family Weekend, recognizing those who play an essential role in helping students succeed.

MHS Vice President of Operations Soleil Carrion welcomed families and community members at the ceremony and reflected on the important partnership between families and the school.

“At Milton Hershey School, we are fortunate to watch our students grow, learn, and thrive each day, made possible by the enduring vision and generosity of our founders, Milton and Catherine Hershey,” said Carrion. “At the heart of everything we do are the families who make a deeply personal and meaningful choice to partner with us in shaping their child’s future.”

Following the ceremony, attendees, students, and MHS staff participated in the Spartan Family Fun Run/Walk, benefitting the Family Gratitude Foundation in Honor of Gertrude Gurt. The event brought the community together in a spirit of gratitude and connection, followed by a community lunch.

Each year, MHS honors outstanding parents and sponsors with the Parent/Sponsor of the Year Award. Established by the Family Gratitude Foundation in Honor of Gertrude Gurt, the award recognizes individuals for their strength and resiliency in the face of adversity, as well as their deep love and dedication to MHS—qualities exemplified by Mrs. Gertrude Gurt, the mother of MHS President Peter G. Gurt ’85.

Together, these moments of celebration and community highlight the strength, resilience, and dedication of MHS families—qualities exemplified by the 2026 Parent/Sponsor of the Year honorees, whose partnership helps ensure students are supported, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential.
