Milton Hershey School Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Team Recognized as Top Student Fundraisers, Receive Donation Match

On Wednesday, Jan. 29, Milton Hershey School students and staff presented a fundraising check to benefit the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research and programs.

Last October, more than 300 MHS students and staff walked in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event on City Island in downtown Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Through fundraising efforts in the fall, the MHS team raised $10,389.

The Milton Hershey School team was the largest in attendance and was the top fundraising “Students for Strides” team. In recognition of their efforts, Groundwater Sciences—an American Cancer Society “Students for Strides” sponsor—matched the team’s donations dollar-for-dollar for a grand fundraising total of $20,778.
