Stanford Maison ’19
Four years after graduating from Milton Hershey School, Stanford Maison ’19 gives back to his alma mater in a variety of ways while advancing his professional career.
Maison is a financial analyst for the Hershey Trust Company, a state-chartered trust company. The Hershey Trust Company provides administration for and investment management of the Milton Hershey School Trust, the M.S. Hershey Foundation Trust, and the Hershey Cemetery Trust. The same Board of Managers that governs MHS governs The Trust.
“I enjoy the fact I can connect my full-time job back to my MHS experience. The relationship gives my work a deeper meaning and purpose,” Maison said.
Maison’s relationship with The Trust began while the New Jersey native was an MHS student. Each year, The Hershey Trust Company chooses one MHS student as its summer intern. Maison impressed his supervisors, and they contacted him for part-time employment while he was attending Georgetown University. After graduation, he successfully applied for a full-time job.
Maison says his MHS education benefited him far beyond connecting with The Hershey Trust Company. At MHS, he was involved with the Spartan football team, a school Christian group, and Student Government Association. Balancing academic requirements, extracurricular activities, and social interests set him up for success at Georgetown University.
“The same way I had athletic goals, I also had goals for my career,” Maison said.
Having successfully graduated from high school and college and attaining a job is not only beneficial to Maison’s life, but also to current MHS students. This summer, Maison was one of The Trust employees who managed MHS intern Avi Ghorai. Maison worked with Avi on his final project, for which he researched aspects of personal finance.
Maison also continues to reap the rewards of an MHS education. He is continuously impressed with the number of staff and faculty who regularly check in on him, four years after graduation.
