MHS Seniors Celebrate a New Tradition: Senior Sunrise

Before the world woke up on May 19, the Milton Hershey School Class of 2026 gathered for a new, special tradition that marks both an ending and a beginning: Senior Sunrise. As the first rays crept over Founders Hall, students came together to celebrate the journey they’ve shared and the bright future ahead.

The morning was filled with energy and camaraderie. Music echoed across the lawn as classmates danced and joined a lively calisthenics session led by President Peter G. Gurt ’85, shaking off sleep and welcoming the day with laughter and movement.

When the sun rose, the seniors paused to take in the moment—one that symbolized the culmination of their years at MHS and the promise of new adventures.

“The Senior Sunrise felt nostalgic and futuristic at the same time,” said senior Gracious Praise Gould. “It was nice to enjoy each other and our time together while we looked toward our futures.”

Afterward, the class gathered for a celebratory breakfast. Before the meal, senior Andrei Del Rosso delivered heartfelt remarks, encouraging classmates to reflect on their time at MHS and to carry forward the lessons of the School Pledge and Sacred Values. Maame Asante then led the class in prayer, grounding the group in gratitude and hope for the future.
