Milton Hershey School Seniors Honored as March 2023 Rotary Students of the Month

The Rotary Club of Hershey named Milton Hershey School seniors Kyrie Sanchez and Olarenwaju (Larry) Onabanwo its March 2023 Students of the Month. They each received a certificate from the Rotary Club and are eligible for a scholarship.

Kyrie Sanchez is from Erie, Pennsylvania and enrolled at Milton Hershey School in 2019. She has been involved in National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society, and currently serves as the president of the Student Government Association Branch for Community Service.

Kyrie interned at the school’s greenhouse, in addition to passing the college portion of the emergency medical technician exam. She is now working towards completing her national recognition exams. Kyrie recently won a gold medal in Extemporaneous Speaking at the Skills USA competition and is a member of the Spartan Violin Group. She plans to attend Dickinson College to study environmental science and art history.

“I have immense gratitude for everyone who has helped me to make my achievements and to the Rotary for recognizing me.,” Kyrie said.

Olarenwaju (Larry) Onabanwo is originally from Brooklyn, New York and has been at MHS since 2016. For the past few years, Larry has been a key contributor to the varsity basketball team that finished sixth in the district this year.

“I enjoy working with younger athletes because it allows me to share my passion with the younger kids,” Larry said.

Larry is a member of the National Honor Society and has been enrolled in Lebanon Valley College business and marketing courses, while currently participating in a dual enrollment English course through Harrisburg University. Last year, he successfully completed the Hershey Honors Business course during which he had opportunities to shadow and interact with executives from The Hershey Company.
