Milton Hershey School Seniors Honored as January 2022 Rotary Students of the Month

Milton Hershey School seniors Vanessa Frimpong and Edyn Marsland were recently selected as the January 2022 Rotary Students of the Month. They each received a certificate from the Rotary Club of Hershey and are eligible for a scholarship.

Milton Hershey School Vanessa Frimpong honored as January Rotary Student of the Month 2022

Vanessa Frimpong is from Whitehall, Pennsylvania and enrolled at Milton Hershey School in 2015 as a sixth grader. Vanessa is the senior class president and is active in many activities including Student Government Association, Hershey Project Planning Committee, and volleyball. In addition, she is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor’s Society, and a recipient of the MHS Visionary Award and Distinguished Honor Roll. Currently, Vanessa is completing an internship at the MHS Hartman Supply Center. Upon graduation from MHS, Vanessa plans to attend college and earn a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management with a minor in psychology. She wants to eventually own and manage a bakery.

When asked to share her response to being chosen as Rotary Student of the Month, Vanessa said, “I am honored to have been chosen for an award for my character and engagement in the community.”

Milton Hershey School Edyn Marsland honored as January Rotary Student of the Month 2022

Edyn Marsland enrolled at Milton Hershey School in 2016 as a sixth grader from Fairmount, West Virginia. He is a member of the MHS cross country and track teams and gives back by volunteering as a peer tutor. In addition, he has been awarded Distinguished Honor Roll.  Currently, Edyn is completing an engineering internship at MHS. After graduation, he plans to attend college.

Edyn would like to thank Milton Hershey School and the Rotary Club for this honor: “I am grateful to have been selected and plan to keep putting my best foot forward in everything I do to set an example and inspire those around me.”
