This award recognizes school districts and schools nationwide for the efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who demonstrate an exceptional commitment and access to music education opportunities.

“Our teachers and the MHS community work hard each day to ensure all students have a creative outlet and can learn the valuable lessons of teamwork, determination, and problem-solving in a unique way through musical expression,” said Dr. Edward Varner, MHS Director of Visual and Performing Arts. “Music education helps children learn and grow and we are fortunate to be able to offer high-quality music and art opportunities for our students.”

All MHS students in pre-K through 12th grade participate in the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) program at MHS. They explore passions and express their creativity through art, music, dance, and drama on campus with instruments, equipment, and lessons provided at no cost to students or their families.
