Milton Hershey School Middle Division Students Recognized as December/January Scholars of the Month

Sixth-grader Alexis Phan and eighth-grader Lany Brode have been recognized as the December 2019/January 2020 Milton Hershey School Middle Division Scholars of the Month.

MHS teachers nominate students for this monthly award based on outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements, and for embodying the school’s Sacred Values: positive spirit, integrity, mutual respect, and commitment to mission.

Alexis currently holds a 98.6-percent overall GPA for the second marking period. According to her teachers, Alexis consistently is one of the best students on her academic team. She takes pride in all of her assignments and completes assignments well above expected levels. She exemplifies true Spartan spirit and is always very respectful and polite.

Lany has a 93-percent overall GPA and according to his teachers, he is a stalwart of patience, positivity, and focus on his academic team since the start of the school year. He demonstrates leadership in his participation in classes and in extracurricular activities. He is a member of the Student Government Association and Aspiring Spartans. He also participates on the baseball, football, and ice hockey teams. Lany welcomes each day with a smile and takes advantage of all the opportunities Milton Hershey School provides to students.
