MHS normally kicks off the first day of school with a vibrant Opening of School Assembly at the Giant Center, but this year, the Opening of School celebration was spread out over several weeks while students prepared for the new year in their student homes and Transitional Living (TL) buildings. This year’s activities were focused around the Opening of School theme, Our Future in Focus.

The official first day of school started with an encouragement video from MHS employees to inspire positivity. As students transitioned between classes, a future-themed playlist streamed through the loudspeakers to emphasize the year’s theme.
