MHS Students Visit with Hershey Bears Ice Hockey Team

On Tuesday, Nov. 13, the Hershey Bears ice hockey team visited with Milton Hershey School high school athletes and elementary students. The players ate lunch with the students and shared their experiences as professional athletes. They also had the opportunity to tour the campus and visit the school’s ice hockey rink.

“It’s nice to see what’s going on in the community…and see how the school works,” said Hershey Bears player Hampus Gustafsson. “It’s nice to learn about their hockey program, exchange some stories, and hear each other’s perspectives.”

MHS students shared their backgrounds with the players and coaches and formed meaningful connections through their shared passion for ice hockey. The visit also helped motivate MHS students to commit to academic and athletic excellence.

“Getting to meet other players who are more experienced gives us something to aspire to,” said Harrison Bonanny, an MHS senior.
