MHS Sophomore Places Third at Mid-Penn Diving Championships

Milton Hershey School sophomore Kyree Scott recently competed at the 2019 Mid-Penn Class 2A Diving Championships where he placed third with a score of 243.15. After competing against students from local school districts, Kyree will advance to the District 3 Diving Championship on Wednesday, Feb. 20.

“Achieving third place was a big deal for me. If anything, it gave me more confidence in my capabilities not just in swimming and diving, but throughout my other hobbies,” Kyree said.

On Feb. 8-9, several members of the MHS swimming team will compete at the Mid-Penn Swimming Championships. Students will participate in a total of eight different relay events, and MHS junior Jordan Urban will swim the 200 and 500 freestyle events.

“The improvement this season has been tremendous, and the time drops have been phenomenal,” said Heather Dougherty, MHS swimming and diving coach. “We now have more swimmers participating in the Mid-Penn Championships than we have had in a very long time.”
