MHS volleyball player with coachOn Wednesday, Oct. 17, the Milton Hershey School girls’ volleyball team battled Central Dauphin East and ended the night undefeated with a 3-0 victory. Six MHS senior volleyball players were recognized during a Senior Night ceremony prior to the game.

The following players were honored:

  • Hailey Bliven
  • Shandae Cruz
  • Tamoya Payne
  • Nadine Maynard
  • Jaylynn Medley
  • Estefani Santos

“Our seniors have set the stage for the varsity volleyball team to have the most successful season we have ever had before,” said MHS volleyball coach and teacher Maria Young. “Their leadership, integrity, and dedication to the volleyball program have been outstanding. These six players are hard-working, committed, and coachable.”

The game was part of the team’s annual “Dig Pink” fundraising event— an opportunity for students to increase awareness of breast cancer and raise money to help find a cure during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The MHS community-supported students’ efforts by attending the game and purchasing t-shirts, raffle tickets, and baked goods. All proceeds benefited the American Cancer Society.

Milton Hershey School encourages students and athletes to get involved in their community and use their talents to give back to others.
