Milton Hershey School Students Create FOCUS Murals

Creativity. Imagination. Artistry.

Milton Hershey School students brought all of these skills to life in a special Opening of School project this week. As part of “Our Future in Focus” festivities, every student home and Transitional Living (TL) building decorated a canvas that was combined into one of three art murals on campus.

Students were asked to envision what they hoped for themselves and the MHS community in the future—and then express it through art. Each of the murals spells the word: FOCUS.

On Friday, fourth-grader Zamira Brown helped hang canvases in Memorial Hall, while six-grader Isaiah Moore-Wilson and 12th-grader Jasiri Smith participated in the art installations in Catherine Hall and Copenhaver Center respectively.

The artwork will remain on display for the entire 2020-21 school year. Check out the pictures and videos for a glimpse at the installations as they happened on social media using #MHSSpartanStrong.
