Milton Hershey School Fourth-Graders Celebrate Promotion to Middle School

On Friday, June 7, Milton Hershey School celebrated 130 fourth-grade students who are being promoted to Middle Division.

President Pete Gurt ’85 welcomed guests and shared a moment with parents/sponsors. He said, “Thank you for being a partner on this journey. You have given your students an incredible opportunity by allowing them to attend MHS.”

MHS fourth-graders recognized on stage during their promotion ceremony.

Each student was recognized by their teachers on stage. They received a promotion certificate and a gift to honor their transition to Middle Division.

Several students also were recognized with awards. This included “Elementary Lifetime Awards” and the “Sacred Value Awards” for students who demonstrated positive spirit, integrity, mutual respect, and commitment to mission. MHS also honored two students with “Good Citizenship” awards for their positive energy throughout all areas of their lives.

Ryan Michael, MHS Middle School Principal, gave the students words of encouragement and a warm welcome as they take the next step forward in their journey at MHS.

To conclude the ceremony, Annette Cole-Gill, MHS Elementary Division Head of School, gave an inspirational message to the audience and rising fifth-graders. “You’ve gained a second family at Milton Hershey School. You are special Spartans who began your journey in Elementary Division,” she said.

Congratulations to these MHS rising fifth-graders and their families for all they have accomplished!
