MHS Athletes Earn 2018 All-Star Accolades for Fall Sports

This fall, 19 Milton Hershey School athletes were named to all-star teams within the Mid-Penn Conference. The Mid-Penn Conference coaches from each sport selected students for the all-star teams based on the students’ skills, work ethic, and accomplishments.

Field Hockey

Four MHS Spartan athletes were selected to the Mid-Penn Capital Division’s field hockey all-star and honorable mention teams.

Senior Ashley Johnson and junior MaKayla McDonald were selected for the all-star team. Seniors Helena Taylor and Sierra Fuchs were chosen as an honorable mention.

“I am extremely proud of these young ladies,” said MHS field hockey coach, Kiley Strohm. “They showed consistency every day and honored not only our team expectations, but also represented Milton Hershey School by exhibiting our school’s Sacred Values.”

The Mid-Penn Capital Division’s all-star game was held on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Lower Dauphin High School. The Capital Division beat the Colonial Division with a final score of 1-0.

Milton Hershey School’s field hockey team finished the season with an overall record of 5-6-1.

Soccer

Milton Hershey School junior, Tristan Gyamfi, was named to the Mid-Penn Capital Division second all-star boys soccer team.

“This accomplishment confirms that with hard work and dedication, I can achieve anything. Without my coaches and teammates, this achievement would not be possible,” Tristan said. “I’m more motivated to work harder in the off-season and help the MHS Spartans have a winning season [next year].”
