Successful Farming Features MHS Hydroponics Program

Featuring Dr. Jason Smith, MHS Horticultural Instructional Advisor

Successful Farming recently interviewed Dr. Jason Smith about the school’s hydroponics program and how the students are learning agribusiness as part of the curriculum.

Through hands-on learning opportunities, students are able to explore gardening as more than a hobby and “see the career potential in agriculture,” said Dr. Smith. Not only are students learning the skills and gaining authentic work experience, they are seeing the farm to table process first-hand by harvesting produce and then selling to The Hotel Hershey.
