Engineering
Engineering Program Area
Engineering is where imagination meets impact—offering students the chance to build the world they want to see. In this CTE program area, students explore the intersection of creativity and technology through real-world applications in both classroom instruction and hands-on experiences.
Review the Program Area (PDF)Learning with Industry-Standard Tools
Engineering students work with industry-standard tools like AutoCAD®, Fusion®, and Revit®, gaining fluency in the software that powers modern engineering. A STEAM-based curriculum (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) challenges them to think critically and solve complex problems while earning industry-recognized certifications. After freshman year, students participate in Project Lead the Way programming and can specialize in architecture or engineering. With opportunities for internships and co-ops, students engage in compelling, real-world challenges that help prepare them for a career.

“Engineering is an area you should really dip your toes into because there is a lot of room for exploration. It allows you to be creative while using math and science for real-world application.”
—Delaney Budzina, MHS Student
Authentic Work Experience
Prior to graduation, students must complete an Authentic Work Experience (AWE) that is directly connected to their CTE coursework. This can include part-time employment, internships, pre-apprenticeships, or cooperative education (co-op) opportunities.
