Building Foundational Skills

The Construction/Carpentry program area builds foundational skills in carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing—covering everything from framing to finishing a home. Students gain hands-on experience in all phases of construction and can explore welding, learning techniques in metalwork and fabrication. This program area prepares graduates for well-paying jobs in a growing industry, while equipping them with lifelong skills for home maintenance.

Authentic Work Experience

Prior to graduation, students must complete an Authentic Work Experience (AWE) that is directly connected to their CTE coursework. This can include part-time employment, internships, pre-apprenticeships, or cooperative education (co-op) opportunities.
