MHS is seeking a part-time seasonal Clothing Associate to perform all tasks related to providing a complete wardrobe for the MHS students. This includes fitting students with clothing, providing fulfillment services, scanning items out of inventory, name-taping clothing, and packing items for student home delivery. In preparation for fall fitting season, the department will stock approximately $1 million worth of inventory.
Key responsibilities
Assist students with clothing, shoe and accessory selection and fitting
Process and tag clothing that needs alterations
Use the scanner to help track clothing issues; perform cycle counts by inventory category as needed
Process returns to correct errors, report discrepancies and inventory problems to management
Promote good stewardship
Assist with annual physical inventory & assist with keeping the bar code system up to date
Answer questions and provide customer service to the students and houseparents
Other duties as assigned.
The fittings in the Clothing Center are seasonal in nature. Fall fitting season is August – October and spring fitting season is February – March. Additional hours may be available outside of the fitting seasons based on the needs of the department. Hourly rate: $24.96. Part-time employees are eligible for an employee assistance program (EAP) and Hershey area discounts.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Basic sewing skills and knowledge of alterations
Basic stocking and tagging of clothing required.
Basic computer skills
Fitting or retail experience and customer service knowledge
Experience with physical inventory/cycle counting
Knowledge of size standards and school clothing guidelines
Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS students.
Candidates must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
