MHS is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support shared services accounts payable operations for Milton Hershey School (MHS) and Catherine Hershey Schools (CHS). This role is responsible for evaluating and processing supplier invoices, employee expense reports, capital expenditures, and other payment requests, while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and timely, accurate payments. The position also supports daily payment operations, including high-volume invoice payments, weekly check runs, and electronic payment remittances.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Processing: Review, code, and process supplier invoices, capital expenditures, and other payables in accordance with established policies and procedures.
AP Scanning/Indexing: Scan, index, and maintain invoice and payment documentation within the AP scanning system.
Supplier Management: Support supplier maintenance, issue resolution, and invoice/payment inquiries as needed.
Expense Reports & Payment Requests: Review and process employee expense reports and payment requests to ensure policy compliance and accurate, timely payment.
Shared Services Support (MHS & CHS):
Review and process shared services employee expense reports to ensure adherence to MHS/CHS policies and timely payments.

Daily AP Operations: Support the day-to-day workflow of the Accounts Payable department, including high-volume payment activity (average per day: 30-40)
Payments & Remittances: Process weekly payments and distribution of checks and EFT remittances weekly.
Team Support: Serve as back-up for other accounts payable functions and assist the Accounts Payable Manager as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Location: On-site in Hershey, PASchedule: This is a year–round full-time role Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Hourly rate: $25.57 - $34.13 (commensurate with experience). Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 5 years of experience with accounts payable, invoices, purchasing, fixed assets, inventory management, and general ledger
Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) through International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and related software systems
Working knowledge of a fully integrated systems; Oracle PeopleSoft preferred
Experience with an AP scanning systems; Canon/Therefore preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational, multitasking, leadership, and collaboration skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Ability to work independently with a team-oriented mindset
High ethical standards and sound professional judgment to serve as a positive role model for MHS students.
