Financial Information

Financing college, completing federal aid applications, and applying for scholarships can be simple, step-by-step processes if you have the right set of resources.

The following websites contain the data, forms and information you need to begin paying for higher education. There are several federal, state, and school aid programs in place to assist you with financing.

Start with some of these resources:

  • PHEAA: According to their website, PHEAA is a national provider of student financial aid services. The organization serves millions of students and thousands of schools through its loan guaranty, loan servicing, financial aid processing, outreach, and other student aid programs.
  • FAFSA: Administered by the U.S. Department of Education, this site is a user-friendly resource with publications, brochures and fact sheets to help you finance college. You can also set up an account to apply for federal aid. You must complete the FAFSA to qualify for federal aid programs, Pennsylvania state aid programs, and school aid programs.
  • FastWeb: This site is ideal for searching for scholarships. After registering, you can search a database of 1.3 million awards based on your individual qualifications and needs. You can also find information about job and internship programs.
  • FinAid: This is a comprehensive resource to help you pay for higher education. You’ll find information about different types of loans, scholarships, grants and military programs. It has online calculators to help you project college costs and decide how much to borrow.
