Clyde Stacks began his career in 1939 as a social studies teacher and later as an art teacher. While Mr. Stacks was indeed a master artist of his time, he was best known within the Milton Hershey School community for his mentoring of students. He retired in 1981 and became an honorary alumnus in 1982. Mr. Stacks kept a workshop in Senior Hall (now Catherine Hall) and was there six or seven days a week until his death in 1987. The Visual Arts Center opened January 18, 2000.
