Success Starts Here and Lasts a Lifetime

Every parent dreams of stability for their children. From housing and meals to health care, MHS provides the essentials, so students can focus on learning, growing, and developing career skills. Parents gain peace of mind knowing their child is safe, cared for, and supported every step of the way. Every student at MHS is surrounded by a world of support—with all costs covered.

Welcome to MHS

Milton Hershey School is a top-tier private, residential school for qualifying students in pre-K through 12th grade. Based on the Deed of Trust left by Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school covers all costs to this day for all students who attend.

We enroll students from across the United States. Many come from right here in Dauphin, Lebanon, and Lancaster counties. Many alumni stay nearby after graduation, making positive contributions to our community.

Could your child, or a child you know, benefit from the opportunities of MHS?

All Costs Covered for All MHS Students

It might sound too good to be true, but it’s real. Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, all costs are truly covered for all enrolled students. The Hersheys gave their chocolate fortune to fund the school in perpetuity.

All costs include:

  • Tuition and housing (with 24/7 security)
  • Healthy meals and snacks
  • School and casual clothing
  • School supplies and computers
  • Medical and dental care, including glasses and medications
  • Counseling services
  • Tutoring and personal academic assistance
  • All field trips, activities, and equipment (sports and instruments)

We seek students who are respectful, hardworking, and eager to learn and grow. Enrolled students must meet qualifications related to family income, capacity to learn with MHS academic programming, and willingness and ability to meet behavioral expectations.
