MHS is currently seeking a Baseball Assistant Coach for one-year ancillary position at Middle School. This position will be responsible for assisting the head coach with the organization and administration of the 5th & 6th grades baseball program. In partnership with the head coach, the assistant coach will support student-athletes’ skill development, athletic growth, and character development, helping them succeed both in their sport and in life. Season runs from March - June. Practices hours are flexible with 14 games (as scheduled). Stipend amount is based on experience and working the entire season. 

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 1 year of successful coaching experience, while also instilling high-quality character.

  • Must have current knowledge of techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of the sport.

  • Ability to teach beginning and advanced skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead & inspire diverse youth.  Experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds, preferred.

  • Ability to interact with student athletes at different skill levels in a positive and professional manner.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) are required.

  • Demonstrated exceptional organizational and planning skills.

  • Candidates must demonstrate high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.
