MHS provides every student with an exceptional career focused education which begins at elementary school.  At the high school level, all students select one of ten CTE Program Areas in which they attain relevant certifications and real-world work experiences in their chosen field of study.  

MHS is seeking a dynamic High School Business Teacher for its Business program area to provide high quality engaging, rigorous, and relevant instruction. MHS’s teachers prepare and deliver lessons and assessments to differentiate instruction, while extensively utilizing data to analyze outcomes and drive achievement to ensure student success.  MHS Business Teachers also collaborate to refine and adapt the curriculum to evolve with current business needs to ensure students are well prepared for the world of work and/or further education.  They also maintain an Advisory Board of community stakeholders to provide input on the curriculum, integrate external resources for instruction, and facilitate real-world work experiences for students. 

MHS Teachers are deeply committed to remediating students to perform well, which requires extensive cross-functional collaboration with a whole child approach to student development.  They are required to schedule and complete additional duties to their teaching schedules.  To help ensure success, the school provides well-resourced classrooms, state-of-the-art technology, small class sizes, planning periods, and extensive professional development.   

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business or Secondary Education required
  • Demonstrated success in the working world of business  
  • Experience teaching using a project-based, literacy rich approach and incorporating real world experiences into instruction, successfully differentiating instruction so all students graduate with a high degree of readiness for success in business whether in higher education or the world of work
  • Exceptional skills in building student relationships & classroom management required
  • Demonstrated success in a highly performing multi-disciplinary team member and collaborating within a community to facilitate work experiences
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills 
  • Coaching or other extracurricular experience, preferred.  Candidates must be “all in” and eager to engage with students beyond the classroom and school day
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
