MHS is seeking a full-time Dining Room Worker (DRW) to join its growing Food Services Department. This position supports the preparation, service, portioning, and monitoring of cafeteria meals for students and staff. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to setting up and monitoring dining and service areas; dishwashing; cleaning the dining room and food service facilities after meals; assisting with the preparation and service of catered events; and performing other duties as assigned.
The standard schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Schedule flexibility is required to meet the needs of the school, including earlier start times and occasional evenings or weekends for catered events. This is a bargaining unit position (OPS-464). Compensation includes a starting hourly rate of $24.07 along with an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as paid time off.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Prior food service experience using safe food handling practices
Valid NSF ServSafe certification, or the ability to obtain within six months of hire
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license in good standing
Ability to operate and maintain large institutional kitchen equipment (e.g., convection ovens, dishwashers, etc.)
Physically capable of frequently lifting and/or carrying up to 50+ pounds
Demonstrated ability to provide professional customer service
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with students and adults in a diverse, multicultural environment
High degree of integrity, as all MHS staff serve as role models for students
Willingness to actively engage with students beyond the scope of job responsibilities.
