MHS is seeking certified driving instructors to provide behind-the-wheel instruction to high school students after school and on weekends. Instructors will prepare students to earn their Pennsylvania driver’s licenses in accordance with the Pennsylvania Driver’s Manual.
The certified instructor is responsible for teaching the fundamentals of operating a vehicle safely and proper driving management techniques. All duties must be performed in strict conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. There is a 20–25-hour work expectation required each week, primarily afternoons and weekends, flexing to meet students’ schedules. This position is in Hershey, PA and pays $40.00 an hour.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required.
PennDOT Driver’s Education Certification is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a driver and a clean driving record required.
Valid PA driver’s license required.
Prior Drivers Education Instruction experience a plus.
Maintain all required certifications outlined by Penn Dot.
Able to sit & assist with driving for prolonged periods.
Previous experience working with high school students preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Available to commit to 20-25 hours each week, flexing to meet student schedules.
Candidates must demonstrate high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for MHS students.
Candidates must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
