MHS is seeking an Alumni Communications Manager (ACM) to play a key role in strengthening lifelong relationships with more than 8,000 living alumni. This role uses the power of communications, engagement, and advocacy to help alumni stay connected to each other, to current students, and to the home and school that shaped their lives.  The ACM leads mission focused communication efforts to foster alumni engagement, volunteerism, and advocacy. Working closely with the Director of Alumni Relations, the Alumni Communications Manager serves as the communications point of contact for the Alumni Relations Office and brings alumni stories, programs, and impact to life across print and digital channels.

This is an on-site position in Hershey, PA with a salary range of $74,000–$99,000, commensurate with experience, and an excellent benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic alumni communication plans aligned with MHS’s mission

  • Serve as managing editor of the alumni magazine and e newsletters

  • Create compelling alumni stories and oversee print and digital content

  • Lead content strategy and management for the alumni website

  • Manage alumni awards programs, including communications and recipient coordination

  • Organize alumni engagement initiatives, events, and recognition programs

  • Refresh exhibits, including the Dearden House Museum

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field

  • 5–8 years of communications or alumni/advancement experience

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills

  • Experience with website content management systems; basic HTML knowledge preferred

  • Excellent organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, mission driven environment

  • Willingness to work some evenings/weekends and travel occasionally

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students

  • Eager to proactively engage with students and alumni
