Eligibility Criteria
In keeping with the school’s Deed of Trust, Milton Hershey School nurtures and educates children in social and financial need to lead fulfilling and productive lives. To be considered for enrollment, a child must meet the following five criteria:
- Come from a low-income family
- Be 4-15 years old at the time of enrollment
- Have the ability to learn at MHS
- Be free from serious behavioral problems likely to disrupt the classroom or student home life at MHS
- Overall, have the ability to participate in and benefit from the MHS program
A World of Support with All Costs Covered
For more than 115 years, MHS has surrounded every child with a world of support with all costs covered. From housing and meals to health and dental care, MHS provides the essentials so students can focus on learning, growing, and developing career skills.
MHS also supports its soon-to-be graduates as they prepare for their postsecondary education or career. Each student has the opportunity to accrue a school-funded Continuing Education Scholarship (CES) totaling up to $115,000—and equating to a full ride for many.
