Living and Working in Hershey
About the Town Built on Chocolate
Surrounded by some of America’s most productive dairy farms, Milton S. Hershey opened the world’s first modern chocolate factory here. He also created the “model town” for employees and their families to have an attractive place to live, work, and play. In the end, he built much more than a factory, school, and town—he built a community that continues to thrive.
