Law, Public Safety, and Security Program Area

The Law, Public Safety, and Security (LPSS) CTE program area equips students with foundational knowledge in law, law enforcement, and the legal system, aligning their learning with future professional goals.

Exploring Complex Legal Concepts with Hands-On Classwork

Law, Public Safety, and Security students learn the fundamentals of criminal justice and ethics in specialized spaces like an on-site courtroom and a crime scene simulation room. They progress to criminal, civil, and constitutional law, then move into hands-on training in crime scene investigation, suspect interrogation, and patrol procedures. Juniors refine skills through trial practice and legal writing, while seniors gain real-world experience through internships and college-level courses. Other opportunities include placements with state agencies and law-related clubs like Mock Trial and Spartan Justice Club.

“I know I want to be a lawyer. Every time I step into the classroom, that’s the end goal I aspire to. Being in the mock courtroom during class is really motivating and invigorating.”

—John Ademuwagun, MHS Student
