MHS is seeking a dynamic English Language Arts Teacher to provide coverage for faculty absences in the high school, ensuring integration of English Language Arts and literacy in all assignments.
MHS teachers prepare and deliver lessons and assessments to differentiate instruction, while utilizing data to analyze outcomes and drive achievement to ensure student success. They collaborate to refine and adapt curriculum to evolve with emerging needs to ensure students are well prepared for success, despite prior adverse experiences. MHS teachers are deeply committed to remediating students to perform well, which requires extensive cross-functional collaboration and a whole child approach to student development. MHS teachers are required to schedule and complete additional duties to their teaching schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education. Advanced degree a plus.
- Certification in High School English. Certifications in Reading and Special Education desired.
- Demonstrated successful instructional experience including the use of a literacy rich approach and effective differentiated instruction.
- Exceptional skills in building student relationships, maintaining high expectations of students, and classroom management.
- Demonstrated success as a high performing multi-disciplinary team member.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Coaching or other extra-curricular experience and availability desired. Candidates should be “all in” and eager to engage with students beyond the classroom and school day.
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
