MHS wrestler, Dylan Byrd, qualifies for states

MHS Wrestler Qualifies for States

Milton Hershey School senior and Spartan wrestler Dylan Byrd finished third in the District 3 3A championships over the weekend, securing a spot at the PIAA State Wrestling Championships.

Dylan lost his first district match in the 220-weight class before going on to win his next five consecutive matches, including four pins, to qualify for state level competition.

“It was quite impressive to see how Dylan came back from a loss to go on to qualify for states,” said MHS head wrestling coach Jason Foor. “His final match was a huge win because he had to beat the district sectionals champion he lost to last week and he did.”

Junior Darius Briggs also competed at districts with two hard-fought matches ending in close losses at 7-6 and 11-10

The PIAA State Championships will be held at the Giant Center in Hershey, March 8-10.

Congratulations Dylan and best of luck at states!
