MHS Students Ring the Bell for Salvation Army

On Saturday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 9, members of the MHS senior class volunteered to ring the bell for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle holiday campaign. The students spent several hours outside of Karn’s Market in Hershey talking with members of the community, singing, and spreading holiday cheer.

During the two-day shift, the students raised $621.50 for the Harrisburg chapter of the Salvation Army. The money raised will feed 247 hot breakfasts to people in the community and provide 31 local children with school clothing.

Milton Hershey School encourages students to give back to their community. Through community service projects, they learn important lessons on how to act with compassion, express gratitude, work with others, and practice empathy.
