MHS Campus Safety and Security Update

Earlier this evening, Sunday, Jan. 7, the Milton Hershey School Campus Safety and Security Department was made aware of a social media post circulating that involved a potential threat to a school with the acronym of “MHS.” Our Campus Safety and Security officers along with the Derry Township Police Department investigated and found no link to Milton Hershey School.

The Albemarle County Police Department in Virginia conducted a similar investigation concerning a local school in its jurisdiction with the acronym “MHS” and confirmed to the Derry Township Police Department that it has made several arrests for the social media threat which was directed at Virginia’s Monticello High School.

Milton Hershey School is committed to sustaining a nurturing and safe environment for all of our students, and will continue to do so.
