MHS is seeking a Contract Manager for its Procurement team.  This is an onsite, year-round position that compensates between $85,000 - $90,000 annually (pay is determined based on experience) and includes an excellent benefits package.  The Procurement Contract Manager (PCM) provides contract expertise and facilitates coordination between Procurement, suppliers, Office of General Counsel, business associates and internal partners, which also includes shared service support for a subsidiary.  The PCM ensures that contracts are executed efficiently and accurately, are maintained effectively and that risk is mitigated in all respects.  Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring procurement contracts and all affiliated administration (SOW’s, amendments, NDA’s, etc.) are in order.
  • Facilitating contract life-cycle management including renewals, terminations, amendments, etc.  
  • Ability to understand and edit commercial terms, draft simple amendments, etc.
  • Collaborating extensively with business associates and internal partners, providing guidance and support for excellence in contracting. 
  • Negotiations with vendors.  
  • Building and maintaining a comprehensive contracting template library.
  • Project manage the implementation of and provide ongoing management for our newly selected contract life-cycle management technology.   
  • Managing risk through collaboration with Office of General Counsel and Risk Management.  
  • Training staff and monitoring compliance.  
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives as it relates to contracting and procurement.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.  Education in Contract Law or Paralegal a plus.  
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar function.  
  • Demonstrated skills in oversight and management of a large volume of commercial contracts and legal agreements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite required, experience with Contract Lifecycle Management software desired.  ERP experience a plus. 
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals and multi-task effectively in a dynamic and complex work environment. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate, negotiate, educate, and collaborate. 
  • Demonstrated analytical skills including a high degree of detail orientation.   
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for MHS students.  
  • Candidates should also be eager to engage with students.
