MHS is currently seeking a Central Monitoring Manager to join the Campus Safety Department to oversee a team of 12 Telecommunicators/Dispatchers and manage the operation of the Central Monitoring functions. Central Monitoring is the communications center of the campus that provides essential services to MHS students, faculty & staff, and visitors to our campus.

Central Monitoring supports the mission of the school by providing 24/7/365 assistance to internal and external callers with emergency and non-emergency requests. It is the central location for receiving, prioritizing, dispatching, and following up on Safety related alarms and requests. Approximately 800 CCTV cameras are monitored by this department. They are trained as Emergency Medical Dispatchers to give instructions that help treat patients until the responding EMS unit arrives. The department also provides emergency and high priority request coverage for the Facilities and Information Technologies departments after normal business hours.

Work schedule: On-site year-round position with minimum of 40 hours per week – Monday through Friday first shift, with flexibility to work extra shifts depending on the needs of the department. This position participates in the on-call rotation to assist with emergency services and staffing needs on a 24-hr, 7-day-a-week basis year-round.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in related role.
  • Prior experience handling customer service requests, complaints, and problems required.
  • Prior experience working with security alarm systems and surveillance equipment required.
  • Prior experience with APCO Telecommunicator I, APCO Law Enforcement Dispatch an/or APCO Medical Dispatch training preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills using an IBM platform in a variety of software packages.
  • Experience working with CCTV and emergency responders.
  • Skilled in using technology including MS Office applications (i.e., PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent project management skills, including time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Exceptional communication skills – written, verbal, and platform.
  • Highly detail-oriented and dependable
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to managing peak work periods and changing priorities.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple competing and concurrent workstreams and setting priorities in dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality in all matters.
