MHS is seeking a Maintenance Technician I (MT-I) to join the Mechanical Trades Team. This position requires basic level diagnostic abilities in all mechanical trade disciplines such as HVAC/R, plumbing, residential & commercial appliance repair, and minor electrical. Additionally, this position assists the MT-II to perform corrective, proactive and preventative maintenance on all campus facility equipment & infrastructure.   The work must be completed in accordance with all state, local and federal codes, and regulations, and may require licensing.

Work schedule: Monday – Friday full-time flex shift with any combination of the shift times listed below on a weekly basis. A full-time schedule shall consist of forty (40) hours of scheduled work with a minimum of two (2) days off:

  • 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (current need) 
  • 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 midnight
  • 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

  • High School or equivalent 
  • Completion of a post-secondary technical training course, or high school vocational technical curriculum in a relevant field such as:
    • HVAC/R 
    • Electrical 
    • Plumbing 
    • Appliance 
  • Basic knowledge of principles, practices & techniques used in the installation, repair, and maintenance with HVAC/R, plumbing, appliances, and electrical systems.
  • Or, two years of current work experience within one or several of the relevant fields in a residential or commercial settings.   
  • NFPA 70E Arc Flash Safety Certification
  • EPA Level 1 Refrigeration Certification
  • Asbestos Awareness Training preferred
  • Valid PA Driver’s License in good standing (CDL Preferred, Class B)
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute manufacturer’s recommendations, schematics & blueprints regarding, servicing & preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer skills required
  • Ability to work with large equipment such as lift trucks, preferred
  • OSHA 10-Hour Training a plus
  • Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students.
  • Candidates should be willing to actively engage with students.
