⛳ Head Varsity Golf Coach

Milton Hershey School – Hershey, PA Part-Time | Seasonal | Stipend Starting at $5,267

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a Head Varsity Golf Coach to build and lead a new, high-performing golf program. This is a unique opportunity to shape a competitive and developmental team from the ground up! The team will compete against a mix of local public and private high schools, following PIAA and NHSGA standards and protocols.

Position Details

Part-time ancillary role
Season runs from August to October
Practices held Monday to Friday, 3:30–6:30 p.m.
Competitions scheduled after school and on weekends
Off-season planning and engagement required (flexible hours)
Postseason compensation provided if qualified

️♂️ Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a strategic vision for program success
Create and lead a developmental plan focused on golf fundamentals, training, and tournament strategy
Inspire and mentor student-athletes, fostering sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork
Coordinate practices, equipment, and competition logistics
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and athletic regulations
Collaborate across MHS to support programmatic success, including middle school development
Oversee assistant coach

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of successful golf coaching experience
Experience as a competitive golfer is a plus
Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals, strategy, and PIAA/NHSGA rules
Proven ability to instill character, sportsmanship, and leadership in student-athletes
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Collaborative mindset and ability to inspire others
Proactive problem-solver with a commitment to excellence
Valid driver’s license in good standing
CPR and First Aid certification required
High integrity and dedication to student success—MHS staff serve as role models
