MHS is currently seeking a full-time 2nd shift Building Services Supervisor. This position supervises and coordinates the activities of employees performing 2nd shift custodial duties. Also, provides support to the Manager, Building Services as needed for coverage of first shift custodians and serves as back-up for necessary pool maintenance and testing activities. Job responsibilities include the following:

Schedules and plans the necessary requirements and determines work procedures for second shift Building Services responsibilities. Examines all building services work for quality and completeness and addresses any problem areas in a proactive manner through use of the guardian system to check on facility cleanliness.Facilitates set-ups for campus events, meetings and events in all facilities and athletic venues-provides customer support and coordination with other departments.Works directly with customers at all levels of the organization to ensure that the Building Services Program is meeting needs and expectations of support services.

The supervisor hours are consistent with the 2nd shift workforce – Monday through Friday from 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm or 3:30 pm – 12:00 am, however the supervisor may be required to work split shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime for emergencies and special events. The shift may vary depending on departmental needs, so candidates should be available to work a flexible schedule. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered. This is an onsite position with pay: $54,483.00 - $72,736.00 per year. Pay is determined based on the experience.     

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid PA driver’s license.
  • Valid Pesticide/Pool chemical training/certification.
  • Blood-born pathogen training.
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience in commercial/institutional custodial services.
  • Prior experience in supervising, managing, training and, leading a large group of employees.
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning products, equipment, and procedures to properly clean & maintain various surfaces and types of facilities.
  • Computer skills – proficient with Microsoft applications, timekeeping system, PeopleSoft, and ability to learn and to use various types of software.
  • Training and/or experience in customer service relations.
  • Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, policies, etc.
  • Ability to work well with, and successfully support, customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to properly respond to emergency situations through use of knowledge, good judgment, and leadership.
  • Candidate should demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for MHS students.
