Milton Hershey School is seeking a Communications Assistant to play an integral role within the Office of Communications. By serving as the hub for the team, this position coordinates office activities and logistics, provides administrative support to the team, assists with special events, and creates extensive written content for a wide variety of mediums and platforms. 

 

Responsibilities include:

-Pro-actively completing creating high quality written content for web, social media, publications, and more.

-Supporting the Communications team through anticipating needs & pro-actively coordinating logistics and administrative responsibilities to ensure smooth departmental operations.

-Responding to and coordinating inquiries to the Communications Department.

-Handling operational needs for the department such as mailings, filling orders, scheduling, etc.

-Assisting with special events, special projects, and various other initiatives.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.

-Professional writing experience with a knowledge of AP Style & highly effective editorial skills.  Experience with an advertising agency or a media outlet a plus.

-Able to quickly develop high quality content.  Marketing knowledge/experience a plus.

-Proficient in the use of Social Media platforms, Microsoft applications, and web-based software applications. 

-Demonstrated skills in pro-actively anticipating needs, discerning priorities, and problem-solving.   

-Exceptional team skills including the ability to facilitate and collaborate.

-Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation capabilities.

-Project management skills including tracking team projects using software and tools. 

-Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and supporting team needs.

-Excellent customer service skills required.

-Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are considered role models for students.

-Candidates should be eager to engage with students.
