MHS is seeking a Food Service Catering Supervisor to join a growing team. This position is responsible for the overall planning and coordination of all aspects (staff, products, food preparation) of catered and special events for the school. Some of the responsibilities are:  

  • Coordination and fulfillment of catering requests inclusive of cost recovery, financial reporting, and statistical data.    
  • Coordination and supervision of cafeteria & dining room operations 
  • Provide supervisory coverage for other Food Service supervisors, as needed to ensure product quality, service, and compliance.   
  • Create and coordinate product and production orders to ensure sufficient product is on hand  for service, manage inventory and rotation, comply with established handling procedures.   
  • Provide safety training to the staff, payroll/time keeping, policy compliance and  performance management of staff.   
  • Other duties as assigned based on the needs to school and department.  

This is a year-round full-time role with a minimum of 40 hours per week with weekends and holidays work depending on the number of catered and special events are scheduled. There will be occasional on-call duties for emergency coverage & catering events. Flexibility with the schedule is a must to be successful in this position.

  • Associates degree in related fields, required 
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with culinary, catering events and supervising food services staff 
  • Valid PA Driver’s license in good standing; required to drive school catering vans around campus 
  • Current NSF Serv Safe Certification 
  • Certified Serv Safe Instructor & Registered Service Safe Examination Proctor 
  • AllerTrain Certification 
  • Excellent inter-personal and organizational skills  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to clearly communicate with a diverse population of stakeholders, staff members and students 
  • Demonstrated experience with forecasting, planning, and budgeting 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and time management 
  • Computer skills and ability to learn proprietary systems 
  • Physically capable to lift and/or carry up to 50+ pounds on a frequent basis 
  • Candidate should demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students. 
  • Candidates should be willing to actively engage with MHS Students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
