Higher Education Support Specialists work with MHS graduates as they pursue higher education studies. They play a key role in facilitating graduate success at higher education institutions after alumni leave their MHS home and school.
Higher Education Support Specialists are responsible for building critical relationships with students prior to graduation and then maintaining that relationship by providing frequent outreach and support. This includes regular communication and visits to the graduates’ higher education institutions.
MHS Higher Education Support Specialists also track students’ course loads, academic performance, integration into their new setting, financial status, and other factors that contribute to students’ success, persistence, and degree completion.
They collaborate with many other stakeholders including MHS staff, families of origin, MHS alumni, and representatives of higher education institutions to ensure graduates have the appropriate support necessary for their educational and career success.
