Milton Hershey School Receives Emmy Award for Video on Alumnus’s Journey

On Saturday, Sept. 9, Milton Hershey School received an Emmy during the 2017 NATAS Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards in the category of human interest program/special for the video titled “The Determination of Mason Symons.”

The video highlights the story of Mason Symons, a 2007 MHS graduate who has used resilience and grit to overcome challenges in his life. The video was created by MHS Communications staff members Doug Legore and Deryk Thompson for the school’s  2016-17 Opening of School Assembly  to inspire students to embrace the characteristics of an MHS Spartan—determination, resilience, loyalty, and courage—and reach their full potential.
