Milton Hershey School to Celebrate 82nd Commencement Ceremony

The class of 2016 is largest in school history; 10,000th alum to receive diploma

The 82nd Milton Hershey School® Commencement will take place on Sunday, June 12, at Giant Center, when 223 students will receive diplomas. The ceremony will honor two monumental moments for the school with the largest class in school history, and the 10,000th graduate to receive a diploma.

“Commencement is always a commemorative occasion and this year is even more significant with two important milestones for Milton Hershey School,” MHS President Pete Gurt ’85 said. “I am tremendously proud of the Class of 2016 and the many accomplishments made. I am confident they are well prepared for the next step in their journey with the top-notch academia environment and critical life skills gained while at MHS.”

Commencement exercises and related graduation activities will be held for seniors, their guests, and staff as follows:

  • Saturday, June 11: Senior Class Chapel and Ring Ceremony, 2 p.m. (Chapel begins with ring ceremony immediately following), Founders Hall Auditorium*
  • Sunday, June 12: Commencement, 10 a.m. (doors open at 9 a.m.), Giant Center*

*Watch a live stream of the Commencement Ceremony.

Seniors Kevin Martinez of Lancaster and Omaris Caceres of Clearwater, Florida will address the Class of 2016 during the commencement ceremony with President Gurt and MHS Alumnus of the Year Johnny Mills ’75 also providing remarks.
