Milton Hershey School Named One of 2017’s Best Places to Work in PA

Milton Hershey School  has been named one of the  Best Places to Work in PA  for 2017. The award recognizes companies across the state based on workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics.

“This is the third consecutive year Milton Hershey School has been recognized with this honor, and it is just as exciting as the first,” said MHS President Peter Gurt ’85. “It is especially meaningful to be able to share this news on our founder Milton Hershey’s birthday. Our faculty and staff work hard every day to continue Mr. and Mrs. Hershey’s vision so our students can reach their full potential. They provide students with life-changing opportunities by caring for, teaching, and supporting them in everything they do here on campus.”

Milton Hershey School is located in Hershey, Pa. Established in 1909, the school is a home and school to more than 2,000 children from families of lower income from across the state and country. MHS and its dedicated staff offer a top-notch education and positive, inclusive home life to students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade—at no cost to their families—in order to nurture and support them in leading fulfilling and productive lives that break the cycle of generational poverty. In order to provide opportunities to more children, the school continues to grow and is looking for caring individuals who want to step up and make a positive impact on the lives of others.

The awards program is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal.
